You're Not Stuck. You're Shedding an Old Identity.

Most people think they are stuck because they are unmotivated, undisciplined, or not doing enough.
But after working deeply with clients and moving through my own healing, I've learned something far more truthful:
You are not stuck because you're failing.
You are stuck because something inside you is trying to break free.
Stuckness is not a dead end. It's a signal. A whisper. A rising pressure from the soul.
It is your higher self pushing against the walls of your old identity, asking you to expand into your next chapter. But if the divine within you is trying to lead...why do you feel so frozen?
Let's explore the real reason people stay stuck and why it has nothing to do with weakness and everything to do with protection.
Stuckness is What Happens When the Inner Self is Expanding
There's a moment in every transformation where the old version of you no longer fits, but the new you hasn't emerged yet.
It feels like:
"I know I want more...but I can't seem to move."
"Something's shifting, but I don't know what."
"I feel blocked, but I don't know why."
This is not stagnation. It is inner evolution.
Just like snakes struggle before shedding its skin, humans feel friction before becoming their next self.
Trauma Creates Inner Prisons That the Soul Wants to Escape
When I speak of "prisons", I'm talking about emotional imprints, the unresolved pain from childhood or life experiences that became trapped in the body, subconscious mind, and energetic field.
These imprints create powerful survival patterns:
hypervigilance
doubting yourself
settling for less
feeling "not enough"
imposter syndrome
self-sabotage
emotional avoidance
perfectionism
choosing partners who feel familiar, not healthy
overworking to "earn" your worth
staying silent when you need to speak
making decisions from scarcity
pleasing others to avoid conflict
These are not flaws. These strategies become cages. Your higher self begins pushing against the bars. This inner tension is what we call "feeling stuck."
Your Childhood Wounds Shape Your Adult Life More Than You Realise
Psychology calls these patterns schemas, unconscious templates formed in early childhood that determine how you see yourself, others, and the world.
for example:
A child who felt unseen develops the "I don't matter" schema.
A child who was criticised carries the "I'm defective" schema.
A child who had to earn love develops the "I'm only worthy when I achieve" schema.
A child who experienced chaos internalises the "safety doesn't exist" schema.
These schemas silently govern:
the relationships you choose (e.g. emotionally unavailable partners, toxic relationships)
the jobs you go for (e.g. staying in a job that drains you)
the salary you accept (e.g. accepting being underpaid)
repeating patterns even when they are painful
the addictions you fall into
the goals you set
the life you tolerate
So when people say "I feel stuck", what they are often feeling is the conflict between their wounded self and their awakened self.
The Higher Self is Trying to Lead - But the Survival Self is Holding On
You Soul is always pulling you toward expansion, truth and alignment.
But your survival system, the part of you built from trauma, is trying to keep you safe by holding onto the past.
This is why the stuckness feels like:
wanting change + fearing change
longing for more + feeling unworthy
knowing the truth + avoiding it
And here is the miracle:
The moment you let go of the old emotional material...your higher self steps in and leads the way.
Letting go is the key that unlocks the prison.
You Don't Need To Become Someone New. You Need to Return to Who You Really Are
The world taught you fear. Life taught you survival.
Trauma taught you to shrink. Conditioning taught you to hide.
But beneath all of that is your true nature. The divine, whole, worthy, powerful self.
Feeling stuck is simply the moment you are called to return to this truth.
And that inner calling will keep getting louder until you listen.
If You are Feeling Stuck Right Now...
Your soul isn't punishing you. Your system isn't failing you. You're not going backward.
You are being asked to:
release what your younger self could not
dissolve the emotional patterns that no longer serve you
open space for your higher consciousness to lead
step into the life that is already waiting for you
This is the work I do with my clients, the work of the Inner Alchemy; transforming emotional pain into personal power, releasing old identities, and helping you return to your divine nature.
If you are ready to break free from the stuckness and step into your next level, I'd love to explore this with you.
Send me a message or book a discovery call.
Sometimes the first step out of the prison is simply being willing to be seen.
